Today is the first day of my “Art Smart Minute”!  We are body, mind, and spirit and all of our parts need nurturing.  Dehydration was the brief topic today.  It is too easy to not drink water in our busy world.  Dehydration can be the culprit in many common problems, including:

  • Headaches
  • Fatigue
  • Hunger
  • Anxiety
  • Dizziness
  • Weakness
  • Heart Palpitations

Try to drink one half of your body weight in ounces of pure water everyday.  You will feel more energetic and alert.  If you have a ways to go, just START SOMEWHERE adding a little at a time.

Today’s Snail Mail Art Journaled Thank You Card was inspired by a new roll of washi tape and an old scrapbooking punch.  Below is the supply list.  This is a perfect project to use whatever you have.  Remember, it’s the process, not the product!

I used my gel-printing plate as a vehicle for blotting the bubble wrap so that the paint wouldn’t glob on.  I wish my Art Journal had been close!  That excess paint is perfect for building backgrounds!  This is truly an art-journaled card — just do whatever you feel!  Here’s the basic drill:

  1. Using a baby wipe, spread acrylic paint on the paper.
  2. Glue on punched-out dictionary paper with glue stick.
  3. Gesso lightly over this with an old hotel or gift card.  This takes awhile to dry.
  4. Randomly apply color using bubble wrap or cardboard tube.  A gel-printed background would be fabulous!
  5. Be sure to decorate your envelope with the excess paint.
  6. When dry, lay out letters for placement.  I started with the middle letter and built out from there.
  7. Trace the letters with charcoal and then paint them in.

Enjoy this colorful Snail Mail Art Journaled Thank You Card.  Feel your best by keeping your body happy with good hydration.  You can do it.  I will help.
